At the end of the night I decided to take a walk down memory lane. Pleasure Island in its heyday consisted of seven nightclubs on a massive island. When you approached Pleasure Island from the Marketplace side of Downtown Disney you would purchase a ticket at one of the two train car ticket booths renovated from the former Fort Wilderness railroad and proceed across the bridge to the turnstiles where you would find yourself in the shadow of the behemoth Mannequins Dance Palace.
I miss the RRBC a lot. I had a lot of good times there! For that matter, a lot of good times were always had on the Island.
Michael Eisner jumped right into his new position and started strategizing ways to make Disney more money. He noticed that guests were leaving the Walt Disney World property and different points in the day for shopping and other experiences. How could they get the guests to stay on property and spend their money with Disney instead?
To make way for the new offerings, all of the clubs on Pleasure Island closed September 27, Pleasure Island is the night-time entertainment district at Downtown Disney. It consists of themed nightclubs, restaurants and shops.
Presented as a repurposed industrial district owned by Merriweather Adam PleasurePleasure Island was home to a variety of bars and nightclub activities, with the most prominent of these being the Adventurers Club. After the closure of the island's facilities and its transformation into The Landing at Disney Springs, both Pleasure and his Adventurers Club were incorporated into the Society of Explorers and Adventurers lore. Pleasure Island had a vast backstory presented in the form of faux-historical plaques scattered across the island.
I just wanted to know if Pleasure Island for adults only or are under 18s allowed. I know they wont be allowed in the discos and barsbut are they allowed in the outdoor areas? And if so is there anything there for them to do?
Disney is no stranger to construction and changing things up a bit. When they closed Pleasure Island no one expected the over haul that was ahead, or that they would eventually regret getting rid of the nightlife atmosphere. Opened May 1, the Island was to be several dance clubs and restaurants created by the fictitious owner Merriweather Adam Pleasure whose character was brought into one of the most famous clubs on Pleasure Island, The Adventurers Club.

It officially opened on May 1, In Septemberall of its clubs were closed, but its retail stores and restaurants remained open. The area is now called The Landing and is the middle part of Disney Springs.
I love shopping and dining out as much as the next girl, but I miss the different clubs that they had when Pleasure Island was open. There were so many fun elements to the different clubs at Pleasure Island. I remember the first time I visited with two of my friends and we had so much fun! I kid you not.
